Anna McQuinn, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Anna McQuinn is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and a licensed Marital and Family therapist. Dr. Anna McQuinn has been a Tenured Professor of Notre Dame de Namur University where she has been chair of the Clinical Psychology Graduate Department since 1987. Dr. Anna McQuinn has also been an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of San Francisco graduate Psychology program. Currently Dr. Anna McQuinn is a Professor Emeritus at the Notre Dame de Namur University, and has a private practice in San Carlos.

Her undergraduate degree was from Carysfort College/ Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Anna McQuinn received a Doctorate from the University of San Francisco. In this program, Dr. Anna McQuinn studied Counseling Psychology and completed the Marital and Family Specialization. Dr. Anna McQuinn received her second Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Sierra University with studies in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice. Dr. Anna McQuinn received a Master of Arts from University of San Francisco with a focus on Spirituality, Health and Healing.

Dr. Anna McQuinn has been Chair of the Department of Graduate Clinical Psychology/ Gerontology, a Tenured Professor of Graduate Clinical Psychology and Clinical Supervisor of the Graduate students at Notre Dame de Namur University since 1987. Dr. Anna McQuinn has a varied practice working with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. Her clinical experience is complemented by many years as Graduate Professor, Researcher and clinical supervisor. Dr. Anna McQuinn is currently researching the psycho-neurobiological theories of human attachment, integrating principles of childhood attachment with adult romantic relationships. Dr. Anna McQuinn continues to research Health and Healing.
